I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

Recently a friend of mine had someone meddle with his computer so that it shuts down at midnight, and can only be turned back on at 7am. Is this some form of timer, and how do we remove it?
LOL, holy crap thats funny. im totally guesing here, but you might want to check some bios settings, even though its probally totally irrelavent. go into safe mode, scan for viruses or spyware, some of the new stuff likes to do this sometimes. thats my advice.
You've probably checked this but; does it actually shut itself down or does it lose power?
Some wall sockets and power bars have timers built in. Just a thought.
It might be as 1337cshacker said, although I thought you could only set it to turn your pc back on after a power failure. Diff Bios than I'm used to maybe?
When in doubt, gas it!

could be. one of the sockets in my room is light switch controled for some reason, if i turn it off my lamp turns off. make sure its not hooked into anything like that.
hopefuly you did this already but incase:check power options in control panel.
