me be a idiot i am i took my graphics card out of my case while i left it plugged into the psu and my mate turned on my pc while i looked at the card and the next thing i know it bursts into flames in my hands so i was pissed with my mate so i thought lets sef if it still works and u know what it does and u know what it now runs 10 to 20 fps faster in my games the card is a radeon 256mb 9800se

how did it burst into flames? well i guess i will try this new tecnique. maybe my $200 dollar card will get some fps faster.;)

hmm... odd.. but interesting :P kinda like the mounting another heatsink on the bottom of the card. if i had an extra PCI-e card laying around, i'd probably try it

Chips don't burst into flames, they sit and smoke. You might also hear the odd capacitor pop.

If what you say happened, there's no feasible way it would still work. Even if it did, you'd get horrible artifacting, and the pixel pipelines, GPU core and RAM chips would most likely be severely damaged.

it had to stop it burning it burnt about 4cm of the card totally black luckilx it was in the corner of the card

If I'm correct, you're referring to the part of the card that contains the molex power connector, in which case you're lucky it still powers on, let alone works. Voltages kill chips. Literally.

Don't bother you can't run it. X1900XT = PCIe, 9xxx series = AGP.
