Well, on this brand new Alienware system I have gotten my hands on, i've come upon a problem.

Crashes.

With certian software, the moment I try to open it.. the Alienware technical support box comes up to send in the problem... I was never a fan of such things, so I just want to try and figure this out.

They give their customers Alien Autopsy software...to find problems, however, this crashes as well once I double click on the .exe

Known games and other software to crash.

Counter-Strike 1.6 Everquest 2 Trial of the Isles Demo Firefox : Not always, but at random times, it will crash for no apparent reason.

I'll see what else does it, but it is quite the menace... and bothering.

Hmmm...., Well make sure your drivers are up to date. Also make sure that your cooling solution (either fans or water bassed) is providing adequate cooling for the insides of your computer.

But, more likely, it's something inside your computer, says a virus, or some really nasty spyware. Try running some of these programs (they are all free, and safe, I use them all)

AVG anti-virus (run a virus scan) http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10342876.html?tag=pop

Ad-Aware for dection/removal of Adware and Spyware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=pop

Lastly, SpyBot Search and Destroy also for detection/removal of adware and spyware: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=pop

Try downloading, installing and runing all of them. The AVG anti-virus scan may take a while.

Since this got lost, I should note that the above did not work. None of it.

Anyone else got ideas?

This computer isn't even a month old yet, so.. I don't know what the problem is.

Should I reformat? I remember that after I installed BF2(came with comp) suddenly I couldn't get the machine to load up all the way sometimes. My desktop background would load, but nothing else. No windows blue screen of "welcome"

Actually, I fixed the problem

Delete bugsolver (alienwareautopsy garbage.)

Then Microsoft started showing me error messages, and a certain program I never heard of.

Data Execution Prevention, or something like that. DEP

So it shows me a list of programs that it keeps crashing, and I simply check it to ignore them... fixed.
