Lately everything I've been downloading (from multiple sites, different files, etc) gets saved as an EFW file and I have no idea what that is or how to work with it. It doesn't open and I haven't had any success changing the properties or opening tool. Can anyone help me out?

Have you tried changing the extension.

For example if the filename is Demo.efw, to demo.exe?

Just curious, do you use the Computer Associates Antivirus software?

Tas;4313651Have you tried changing the extension.

To do that, you must first open a Folder, such as "My Documents".

Then select "Tools", followed by "Folder Options".

Under one of the Tabs, is a a "checklist". One item in the list is "Hide Extensions for known file names". Make sure that box is unchecked.

Then change the last 3 letters, to another set. AS per the example Tas gave above. You have to have a DOT, followed by 3 letters, for this to work. So try either '.exe', or '.zip'.
