I have been looking around for an HDTV to play my 360 on lately, and I was trying to get under 1k thats still nice, although I really want to stay in the 600 or less range. I went to my local Best Buy and they have an open floor model of this. The open model is only $380 but has no remote, which is only $30 to order. This TV is also practical as I can fit it with a little effort into my current entertainment center. I am not concerned with HDMI either and I plan on buying a splitter so I can hook multiple things into the Component. Will the 1080i look very good or is almost not worth it unless you get 720p? Some people have told me that 1080i you can see flickering. Also, with 16:9, you will not get black bars in 1080i mode will you? Thanks for the advice, please post asap as I want to buy it if I am going to tomorrow.
I'm not sure but I think you want it to also have 720p I found a review at CNET so far and they don't like it. http://reviews.cnet.com/Insignia_NS_30HTV/4505-6481_7-31871129.html
Don't rush this purchase dude, lets do some good investigating so you get something good for your money.
What do you think about this one? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7867338&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050027&id=1142301899352
This Samsung looks sweet man and has 720p! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7716769&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050007&id=1138087675171 Slim fit tube, unlike the Insignia
I have not had any problems with flickering at 1080i on my HDTV.
That is a good model. I have the same one only in black. The back model got alot of bad things said about it, but I can't see what is wrong with it. The only problem I have is the image on my 360 is about 3/4 of an inch too wide. I can't see some things on the way side. Other than that it is fine.
All the reviews are from about 1 to 3 months ago. I got mine back in november 2005. The only thing I can think of is a bad batch of them. I got it from about $650 at the time, now it is only $600.
I bought a floor model CRT for $200 when flat screen CRTs were new. I never had a problem with it. Just ask how long it has been a on display and whether anything has gone bad with it. Also ask why they are getting rid of it.
Hmm...well I don't think I want that TV now...It was probably returned because of the reasons they said on there about poor quality. Should've known Best Buy brand would be junk.
