ok, recently attacked by spyware and all of its shit, yadda yadda, anyway, its all gone. i get full normal startups (takes about 15 seconds total from boot menu) and no backround running programs. microsoft spyware beta 1 says no more threats, program files clean, add remove programs clean, regestry clean. everything looks good. but take a look at this. this is what my new permament desktop is that i cant change, it bothers me very little since i never see my desktop:

its really not bothering me that much, my system is completly clean, i dont even see the desktop, havent seen it in two months (who knows how long its been there...). i use this all the time, better than desk imho:

when i tried to set it to the blank blue or black i usually have it at, the boxes are disabled in display properties:

this is about the first time in a year im asking for spyware related help. its just beyond me what these spyware shit people are allowed to do. someone needs to make a liscense law, installs its shit all by itsself. anyway, anyone have a clue on how to change this even though the controls are grayed out (disabled) ?

Ok well, that icon up top there, the shortcut for "SpySheriff", that's what your problem is. It sticks out like a sore thumb among all those other shortcuts you have there lol.

Just google spysheriff and you can find lots of ways to get rid of it.
