I seem to have an issue with playing MPG's and MPEG's on Windows Media Player 10. Here's what happens: Anytime I play those filetypes (and only those filetypes), the video comes out slower than it's supposed to, also distorting the audio, making it sound like you used sound recorder and decreased the speed. This just started happening after I formatted my computer, and I'm wondering if there are any codecs I can download, or any type of patch to fix this problem? I've tried uninstalling RealPlayer and Quicktime and that didn't work (thinking maybe they somehow were causing errors), and I've tried reinstalling WMP 9 AND 10, and it still does it. Any help on this subject would be appreciated. And if you need any more info, I'd be happy to supply it.
So... can anyone at least ATTEMPT to help?
36 People have looked, and none were able to help. I'll give it a shot. Have you tried checking your video acceleration? Go to Tools>Options...>Performance>Video Acceleration: Full>Advanced>Drop Frames to keep AV in sync: checked, and leave the rest as it was when you got there. Do tell what happens after that.
Those settings are all the way you said they should be. I've also tried reinstalling it, which didn't work. I'm thinking it has something to do with codecs or something like that, but I really don't know what else I can do.
The only type of mpg codec I was able to find was an mpg 2 DVD decoder, I'm really not sure what's going on with this, and I have no idea what to try next. This is the second time this week I've referred someone to another forums, but here goes. http://forumz.tomshardware.com/software/Help-Support-forum-52.html They might be able to help you out there. Mods, if this is "illegal" to the forums, go ahead and remove it
