Im pretty mad right now. My stupid comp has been working fine for the last few days, and then yesterday my god dang comp didn't open any programs. I double click icons on my desktop.. Then nothing. Tried task manager too, Still nothing so im like wtf so I restart my comp... Does the same thing. Since I couldn't open any programs like av I did system restore to revert back to a week ago. It does it, comp works fine. Then I reboot my comp and guess what? Problems hapen again!:( So I did system restore and now my comps fine but if I reboot it will probably happen again. I just did Windows Update and installed some security things. Im running AVG antivirus right now.. Hasn't picked up anything yet. I don't really want to reformat because i got alot of things in here.. So what should I do? Every heard of this before? I got a Hijack this log if it will help. ok .... Here is what you should start doing.

Do a virus scan in safemode.

  • Restart your pc and hit the F8 key
  • choose "start in safemode with networking".
  • hit enter
  • use avg and scan your hard drive

If you aren't using them already, get the following: spywareblaster <spybot Search and Destroy adaware se Regscrubxp

They are all very easy to use. Make sure after you install, that you update them. If you have used SysRestore, chances are you are ok ... But go through all this as it is good practice.

Hello :)

Rescan with HJT and place a checkmark next to these entries... O2 - BHO: (no name) - {29AABF35-22FD-826D-3841-5DCAA5BE8020} - C:\PROGRA~1\DRIVEC~1\road rdr.exe (file missing) O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - (no file) [obsolete NORTON AV entry] O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE [Considered spyware by some, not needed anyway] O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) [obsolete REAL PLAYER entry] O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - hxxp://207.188.7.150/0489b35107d6b53...p/RdxIE601.cab O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} - hxxp://www.popcap.com/games/popcaploader_v6.cab ...then proceed to Fix Selected.

I can't ID this, maybe you know what it is? O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Filetopia] C:\Program Files\Filetopia3\Filetopia.exe /TRAY These two are causing restrictions upon Internet Explorer, but they may have been intentionally set by an Administrator of the system. If this is not true, you should fix them... O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present This is a concern, unless of course you are aware of its existence and it is/was not being used to facilitate unauthorised access to the system... O23 - Service: RA Server (Slave) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\Slave.exe (file missing) You might run an online scan to see if there's anything that has not been exposed by HJT. I personally recommend this one... http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/kws/kavwebscan.html I also have a whole list here that might be of use... http://www.globalanswer.co.uk/Security/OnlineScans/onlinescans.htm I do not see anything in the log related to security programs, other than AVG (although there is no startup entry for it, only Services). This is either because none are installed or they have been disabled, even deleted by malware. Merrick has offered some options above, but most important is the consideration of a Firewall, I see no evidence at all that you have one.

Regards, M_M
