Last night I was playing COD 2, which isnt really the point, anyhow when I quit the game I looked to the bottom right of my screen to see a lil icon on the task bar that looked like this , in fact it looked exactly like this... and when I hovered over it a lil floating pop up said 'system error' and when I clicked on it, the thing vanished as if it was never there.
Has anyone ever experienced this... in all my years as a PC user ive never encountered it.
Im kinda concerned cause if there was an error it might have caused damage to my system files or something.
Check the Log in Event Viewer.
Wierd theres no error listed there that corrosponds to the time it was displayed at... further more there seems to only be one listed error for yesterday and that was early in the morning... when I got the error message it was in the evening not the morning :P
Try maybe atomatic updates? That worked for me, thats what my error meant. osrry I ahve to got ot bed so I will not respoind till later.
Spyware? Possibly, that's the first thing that comes to mind. The automatic updates uses something like this, I thought. I have them turned off, so i get no reminders, so I'm not sure exactly what it looks like.
Im running service pack 1 so I dont have a stupid Security Manager icon... Dont worry about it guys... thanks for the help anyhow.
