I'm currently playing a lot of Skyrim and Deus Ex 3 so I have been trying everything to keep my poor old PC cool. Right now I have the Nvidia system monitor that allows me to have a little window on the desktop to tell me how how my card is but it takes up a lot of memory just to run it.

So I was wondering if there are any others around that I can see whilst ingame without slowing down my hole PC? I have an nvidia 7900GTX card right now btw.

What's the name of this program you're using? If you haven't yet, check out CPU-z HWMonitor. They give you temperatures are on components of your motherboard.

What kind of temperatures are you getting on your card when you play? Also, this is probably obvious, but you should really look into upgrading.

I use sidebar gadgets from addgadget.com, they have one for CPU, one for GPU, network, HDD, etc.

...you should really look into upgrading.

If he's happy with what he's got, why spend more money?

Also, like computernerd said, HW monitor is a good temp monitor, but I don't think there's a way to make it show up in game, so you'd have to alt+tab to see it.
