If you don't know what you're doing inside the case though, I'd stray away from replacing the CPU heatsink/fan by yourself. Get a friend who is good with computers to do it for you. What processor do you have?

Indeed, working that closely to the CPU (and some fairly vital bits of the motherboard) when you don't know what you're doing isn't a good idea.

Good point, you're correct. The 9200 does not have a temp sensor.

He has a 9600, not a 9200.

You could try this less-than-conventional method of cooling your CPU.

Open up the side of your case. Put a large desk fan facing the ineards of the case, and turn it on.

See if that helps.

Bah, I must be suffering dyslexia. But still, the 9600 don't have temp sensors either, well, not that I'm aware of.

The desk fan is just too impractical, sure it would help. But it would only be a temporary fix, not something to consider using.

Yea, it looks like hell, I'll admit. I've only used it when I had been over clocking my old 5200FX.
