My 2 foreseeable problems with an MSTechTV would be that:

1) Since MS owns it, it will be nothing but "MS-Centric BS". Nothing about anything remotely considered a threat to MS. As in nothing about Linux, Macs, Sun Microsytems, alternative browsers, alternative gaming platforms, non MS software and products etc, etc.

2) Comcast being the asses they are as proven with how they BURIED TechTv will not carry MSTechTV and I won't be able to watch it regardless.

G4 = total garbage!

I am worried about the future of G4TechTV also. I wasnt to thrilled with the merger of G4 and Techtv either, but I do not want to see MS take over any of it either. I miss the old TSS crew also Leo and Patrick. But Im glad to see Kevin doing TheBroken, brings back the humor that was lost when Patrick left and the shady styles to. I pray things dont get any worse than G4TechTV.

RevenWhat was Tech TV and what was good about it? Also which country was it shown in?

Tech TV was formally known as ZD Net TV and was once a great channel devoted to all things tech related. It had a huge following with shows like "The Screen Savers" and "Call For Help", 2 shows geared towards helping people with thier PC's. Also shows like "Fresh Gear" showing the latest tech gadgets and such. "Silicone Spin" was a round table format with various people "in the know" of the down and dirty side of tech. Many many other tremendous shows as well.

In Short it was just a great great channel that was very informative and was by far superior to the garbage thrown out by G4 these days. As far as where it was shown, it was a U.S. based show that also reached Canada but I remember they would get calls on TSS from all over the world, depending if thier satellite carrier etc would have it.

It truly is missed. :bawl:

G4TechTV No good, no more...? <--- My thread in Entertainment. :D

TechTV, was my favorite channel. I had to get used to the change from ZDTV, so I thought I might like G4TechTV. I was wrong.

ZDTV had a cool show called GamespotTV, by gamespot.com. I seem to remeber Adam Sessler hosting it. Nearly everything else was the same, when it became TechTV.

Adam Sessler hosted a new show with Morgan Webb, called X-Play. It was an annoying change, took me a week to figure out that X-Play was the new GamespotTV.

"TechTV" use to be an information channel, with a reserved respect like "Discovery" and "The History Channel" have.

"Tech Live" was a Technology related news show. My second favorite show.

"Fresh Gear" like posted about, was about showcasing the latest gadgets. They often tried crazy test on gadgets. Funny, and interesting, if often boring.

"Call for Help" was a part of "The Screen Savers", then it was split off into its own show. TSS started with a cool intro of Leo Laport driving a cool classic convertable, on his way to the set. With kind of a secret agent theme. :D

"Anime Unleashed" This was a cool way for us Americans to brush up on anime. They show a different series every month, if the series ends by the end of the month. Good thing its still around.

Now G4TechTV is nothing but video game related. All day, every Day. Stupid shows too, and a mismatched cast. It no longer has the "Magic" that TechTV had. Since they got rid of all the "Old guys", except for Adam Sessler. :uhoh:

"Icons" - Its about the types of video games, and the video game icons. Video game history.

"G4TechTV" - ever wanted to here 2 Girls talk for an hour, at a speed faster than you can understand, about games? Here's your chance.

"Judgement Day" - stupid X-Play/GamespotTV clone.

"Cheat" - Worst of the Worst! Who thought a show that showcases 5 Playstation 2 codes an episode, would be a good thing, to replace "Tech Live".
