The future of HD TV has arrived and well we will have to wait 25 years, now doesn't that suck.

Has anyone actually got HD TV??, is it that much different?

Japanese scientists have shown Ultra High Definition TV for the first time in Europe. The system has 16 times the resolution of current HDTV. However, it is unlikely to be available to the public for at least 25 years.

Meh, i don't even have a HDTV yet. To be honest, the HDTV's i've seen in stores don't seem to be as amazingly better than the plain old 32" at my house as people make them out to be.

Thats crazy though, 16x the res of a current HDTV? What would that be compared to a SDTV?

I won't be getting a HDTV until the good channels are broadcasting in HDTV. So that'll be a few years then :)

I have an HDTV, although we don't actually get HD signals over here.

It's nice to be able to run my DVR at 720p, though.

That's usually because HDTV displays in big box stores run the same (analogue) feed as the cheap stuff, and nobody's ever made a digital TV that displays and analogue signal well. It just accentuates the imperfections.

It's incredible the first time you get to see a hi-def tv with the proper image signal.
