Hey there, I was wondering what you guys would say the components should be if someone was going to build a worldbeater PC... hypathetically ofcourse, Im broke. I'd say the specs would be along these lines Vapochill case ASUS SLI mobo FX-55 OC'ed to 2.85GHZ 4GB PC4600 OCZ (2) BFG 6800 ULTRA OC 256MB SoundBlaster platinum DVD-RW drive 2 10k 74GB Raptor drives in RAID 0 400GB dumpdrive T1 internet connection sweet

I agree with most of that, but why not go for the 512mb 6800s? And why did you limit it to just two 10k raptors? Go for 6 raptors in raid 0+1.

I think I would also prefer the Koolance 725-SL for the case. You couldn't OC your system as high as with Vapochill, but the case just looks a hell of a lot nicer than any Vapochill cases I have seen out there.

AMD64 FX OC'd to whatever Vapochill Water and VGA cooling 4GB DDR625 PC5000 OCZ EL Platinum DFI nF4 RAM (Dual Channel) DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR Mobo 2 x Seriously overclocked BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra 512MBs 4 x WD Raptor 10K 73GB SATA HDDs AND 2 x Seagate Barracuda 400GB 7200.8 HDD in RAID 5 (if possible) 2 x DVD+-RW/CD+-RW/DVD-RAM+-RW/Lightscribe (two so you can copy directly to another CD) Big mother powersupply, as stable and powerful as possible. NB. You can get a P4 3.6GHz to 6.1GHz, but you need liquid nitrogen cooling. Plus it's as stable as your mate after an all-night pub session.

hmmm... lets see here: $1,678 in Video cards + $338 Processer + $297 in Ram + $196 motherboard + $924 in Hard drives + $180 Power supply + $35 CD/DVDRW drive and your looking at somewhere around $3,648.00 total, before the cost of a case too.

I really like the idea about the 512MB 6800's and the 6 HDD's... I also noticed you guys chose a diff ram, interesting. The San Diage core isnt a bad idea either, I bet it OC's sweet... but a San Diage core 4000+ has 1mb L2 cache.

Pethegreatâ„¢= AMD64 +3000 oc'ed to 2.75 ghz

Are you using a Venice core to get that much of an overclock?
