Okay gentlemen, i have to ask you, what do you think of this system:

Dell XPS 400 Dell mobo

Pentium D 3.0 Ghz 2 gigs RAM (dell) Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 256mb Sound Blaster X-fi

MS windows XP Media Center

I know I should build my own system, but I think that can wait until I have a steadier income.

LOL, you could buld something better than that Dell set up for about £700 cheaper... build your own it is no where near as expensive

JakkcExcept for the RAM, as Dell use crap cheap RAM
Yes, Dell does, but I would be more worried about their motherboards, they really suck...
It has a 7800GTX and 2GB of ram in it, Why only 3.0GHz? Weird...

Pentium D (Dothan) is dual core. Intel now runs the same as AMD, GHz doesn't mean shit. This is really makeing things confuseing though... I would highly reccomend buying a new motherboard for that, it wont be to spendy, and u can stick everything in it, and replace the ram....with some nice gamer ram, like Corsair XMS.

I don't know about Dell since I've only ever used it at school, but your system specifications are pretty good and you've even got the Media centre edition of Windows thats a good thing, did the media centre come pre installed ? or did you download the media centre software ?

It comes pre-installed

My friend got a dell like this and said it worked fine, and it's a temporary fix until i can get a ASuS SLI deluxe mobo and an AMD 3700

That and it has financing.
