Currently have a 9800XT which did the job but i have always had heating issues with it! I had to underclock it so i wouldnt get artifacts. I have had the 9800XT for 2 n half years and it has actualy ran games quite well but now everytime i run a full screen application or leave the computer on for a long time i get mammoth green lines accross the screen and the only way of getting rid of them is to restart the computer!

I have to admit that the cost of the 9800XT was stupid, i paid $790 AUD for it, ouch!

Anyway if anyone has this new card and could tell me how it runs stuff post your info here or if anyone has heard news on it tell me. I have already orded and paid for the card so it is on its way. Will i get a great graphical improvment over my 9800XT card?

Cheers Mellis

I use to have that same problem with my old 9800 Pro, i think the colors come up like that because because of overheating issues... As for getting a 7800GS you will probably see a HUGE performance gain. BTW: You got a 9800XT for $790 AUD!? Thats crazy!

I hear that its not that much better off than a 2 year old 6800 Ultra or GT the problrm is that those cards are off the market, so yea go for the 7800 GS:D

The 7800GS is the most powerful AGP card on the market, as far as I know. And one of the most powerful cards, period.

Most powerful APG cards but mehh if you OC a 6800 Ultra you could probally reach 7800 GS banchmarks. And just the X1900 XTX is the most powerful card out theire. Buddy get ur self the 7800 GS FTW! and stay away from the 6 series cards not cuz there bad they actually were really good but theire a bit overpriced these days especially the 6800 Ultra.

Going to a 7800GS be like going from a P4 1.8ghz to a AMD FX55. Go for it! If you want to stay AGP its the best you can go.

cheers guys thanks for the advice. Its crazy, i have underclocked my 9800XT so much just so it stays under 50 degrees! The card will get here in about 2 weeks i cant wait! Doing all my 3d work for my subject is hard because everytime it gets to hot and the green parts come up i have to restart. Its not a good thing!
