Processor: Depends. Intel, P4 EE (~$1000). AMD, 64 fx-51 (~$750). AMD is more performance > cost, and intel's run very cool. Ram: Kingston HyperX DDR 512 (~$200) Mobo: Also depends. I do know, for the AMD 64 fx, Gigabyte K8NNXP-940 (~$200). Not sure about Intel, i don't use one :D GPU: ATI Radeon x800 XT 512 (~$699) HDD: Western Digital SATA (~$200) FLOPPY:  (~$2.00) CD: TDK 440N DVD +-R/+-RW (~$300) CASE: Lian-Li PC65 mid-tower (~$110) PSU: Antec Stealth 520W (~$100) SOUND: Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum Pro (~$206) So the most you would be spending on really good parts would be at least about $3000. Heh, never let me build your computer! :naughty:
That sounds like a nice system m8 BUT: Corsair MEMORY M8 ITS THE only WAY 2 GO: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=82922 OR THIS http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=61853 :bows:
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 Mobo : Asus SK8V RAM : Corsair CMX512-3200C2PRO HDD : Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 250 GB S-ATA Video Card : Asus Radeon 9800XT 256MB Sound : TerraTec SoundSystem Aureon 7.1 Universe. Case&cool : VapoChill XE Compressor based cooling unit. Effectivly cools your CPU to a standard -10 C. Can go as low as -30 C, depending on the architechture of the CPU.. Here is a link
There is no noticable difference between the different floppydrives, doesnt matter which you choose. PSU will give the amount of power it is labeled, nothing more, nothing less. Some have smaller more noiser fans, other bigger temperature regulated once. Mist, Thermaltake, SilentMaxx, Antec and Chieftec all produce good PSUs.
that cpu cooling system how much is it and the cases? problably to much for me
You should have 5 fans at most for cooling (if your clocking overwise 4 should be all you need) These cost 20$ or less a peice. As for the other computer parts I recommend checking out www.newegg.com I think you should go with the AMD cpu's cause the better intel's are the exterme edition which is over 1,000$ for just the cpu chip.
My lian-Li case full tower has 12 fans on it. Thats just the case alone. I have no cooling problems.:D

 3 on front, 2 on the window side, 3 on top, and 4 on the back. The only fan that sounds like Mac 2 is my cpu fan @ 5500rpm pushing 78 cfps.
Hey livn4metal I was thinking about geting a Lian-Li case, so could you show us some pics of your computer? It really sounds sweet!
Thanks, Matt
