I got Spyware on the PC a few months ago the IE homepage got set to about:blank and it wouldnt change back to google even though I changed it to google on the options I scanned on norton and there was 38 infections ! yes 38 infections !!!! in the end all I did was a simple system restore and it worked fine, thats what I love about macs now that I have one I'm garanteed to never get any infections/virus's or spyware since macs never gets any though I still have a firewall spyware and virus scanner installed just to be safe.

lol 38 is nothing. I feel ashammed to say this, on my old PC i had 238 viruses and spybots etc lol!!! I don't use IE.. only if FIrefox can't produce a page correctly. I suggest you use Mozillia firefox as well, i never have problems with it, except incompatible webpages, which are rare as well.

Oh.. and how do you give reputation points lol?? :S

For the record, there are maybe three dozen viruses that Norton cannot clean. Most of those have cleaners posted somewhere on Symantec's website. Those are little more than standalone programs that do nothing but remove specific viruses. I think Win32.CIH/Spacefiller might be an example of one such virus.

McAfee's STINGER is another such program. It's just one program, but it looks specifically for fifty-some viruses. Highly recommended.
