I have the setup for the latest version of AIM (aka AOL Instant Messenger).
I launched the setup.
A box pops up saying I don't meet the minimum system requirements to install AIM, which were: 128 MB of RAM, 42 MB disk space, and to be running windows XP or 2K. Then the setup closes.
I meet these requirements though. I have 1 gig of RAM, more than 1 gig of drive space available, and am running a real copy of Windows XP.
If you're down to 1GB of free hard drive space, you need to upgrade.
Its probably just AIM throwing a fit, you could try clearing up some more space and try again.
Why not use a alternative messenger such as Trillian, Gaim, or Easy Messenger? They all work with AIM, and can be used for other services as well.
Definitely try clearing up that hardrive - that's unbelievably full if you only have 1GB left :uhm:
You could try an alternative program, such as Trillian or gAIM.
Yep, like ^ says ... And if those ones don't please you, you may also give a try to aMSN, or Miranda IM ...

I use it for my AIM/MSN/IRC stuff
Freed up a couple gigs; that didn't help.
The reason I don't use trillian for AIM is because when I click conect nothing happens... it doesn't log me in and doesn't say I put in the wrong password or anything like that.. I typed my password and user though.... mabye I will try reinstalling trillian.
Gaim is good if you use Linux.
The Windows version of Gaim is pretty good too.
