...That means laptop. Okay, I'm getting a laptop in the next couple of weeks. So, I'm going to need your advice on building one. Wait. I won't be building it completely, I'm going to customize a licensed one. Why, you say? Because, my friend built his own and things tend to crash more often. Besides, I'd want mine to look good and have offers. And why not a PC? Because I move around a lot. There's nothing sexier than a giant PC that weighs about 40 lbs. and is two feet high. Yeah, sarcasm. Okay. So now, I'm going to go into details of how I'm going to customize it by specs. All right. I'm going to buy a Dell Inspiron XPS: The best laptop besides an Alienware: Almost exact performance, a lot less. So, please don't judge me. Okay, so: Step One! ----------------------------- STEP ONE ----------------------------- Do I seriously, seriously need a Floppy Drive? It's optional and another fifty dollars. Being the fact that there's email for sending small files and also those tiny, nifty, cool USB Memory Key's (The 128MB one), which I'll get, I don't see the need for one. Should I keep my money where it is or spend more on a Floppy Drive?

Get a floppy drive. You never know when you might need it. The laptop I borrow when I need one doesn't have a fixed one, so I need to fuck around with a serial connection...

All right. Thanks. A floppy drive will be added. This is going much quicker than I expected. Awesome. Now! Onto...

----------------------------- STEP TWO -----------------------------

The HardDrive will be a 100GB Ultra ATA. Now, that is definitely enough. BUT! I just need to know if I truly, truly need a second Hard Drive. I mean, if I do need one, it doesn't have to be right away, now, does it?

Do I need a second Hard Drive (right away)?

100GB should be enough space for the forseeable future; unless you have a crap load of data you need to store on your laptop...

You can always get a firewire external. I'm not a big fan of USB 2.

Hold on, hold on, I'm getting to it. lol All right. Just one HD. Good enough. ----------------------------- STEP THREE ----------------------------- There is a built in processor of Pentium 4 3.4 GHz. Yes. Fast. But, it says I can ...downgrade?...to an Extreme Edition of 3.2 GHz for a couple more hundred. What's so EXTREME about it? So, should I go down to 3.2 for the price, or stay where I am?
