I know this seem like a realy noobish question but ive messed up too many times in the past so i want to find out how to do it propperly. I have an ABit Siluro GeForce 2 MX-200 card and want to update its drivers to the latest NVidia ones on the PcGamer DVD. However the problem comes when i try to uninstall the old ones. i have two drivers in my uninstall list, the ABIT ones and another NVidia one. Can someone please talk me through the process of installing the new driver. Cheers in advance

have you tried just installing the new ones without uninstalling the old ones?

(if you already tried and explained, don't mind me... i'm just tired)

first, you get a better card, delete all the graphics card drivers, and install new ones...

Ive always been told that you should only have one driver installed. I tried Deleating one or the other but gave up as it kept messing up. I just want to know exactly what to do before i do it again as i dont know if the ABIT one is actually a driver.

first, you get a better card, delete all the graphics card drivers, and install new ones...

One problem with that, i cant afford a new card on 7 quid a week. (but i am saving up for a new system to play HL2!)

Nvidia does not support uninstalling the old drivers to my knowledge. There is a 3rd party program you can d/l that removes the old drivers if you fell you ahve to.

You should not have to uninstall the old drivers first. The new drivers overwrite the old drivers so you should be OK. Most people want to uninstall the old drivers in case a driver upgrade has a bug that affects a program or game.

Mainly it's just the ATI drivers that should be uninstalled before updating.

Really? I just used the nvidia uninstaller a few days ago....maybe that just removes the control panel etc, though
