Well I think i'm getting a pentium4 with 512 ram
i dont know the speed but he saids its a p4. is this ok, I am getting it for nearly $200
Assuming that $200 AUD = $150.80 USD...
If it's $200 for just the processor, which is used, that seems a bit steep, regardless of which p4 it is.
If it's for an entire computer with a p4 and 512mb of ram, then that sounds about right.
So what's your "upgrade help" question?
I think it is
whats the minimal needed for gaming
It depends on what games you are talking about, and how low you are willing to go with the settings (detail/resolution, etc).
I would say at a mimumum, you'll want a 2ghz Intel processor (or an AMD 2000+).
But to be honest, the video card is the real make or break component in your pc as far as what games you can run and how well you can run them. What video card will you be using?
ati radeon 9250 128mb video ram/memory
Is that ok?
No, it's not. Get a 6600 or an X700/800 at the very least if you want to play today's games acceptably.
That card should be sufficient to run most games, but not real well.
It will have alot of trouble running the latest ones though, if it runs them at all.
whats wrong with it
It still plays 95% of todays games
Well, if you're happy with running Doom3 at 20fps on medium settings (I used to have one) then go for it, otherwise I'd recommend something with a little more "oomph".
