peepeek thx :) well unless you guys can find me a better cpu and mobo with agp 8x and pci-e x16 for 250$ :)
AMD is the best gaming processor out there, no question, As for your motherboard, as far as I know there is no motherboard out there that can take both AGP and PCI-E. Since AGP is dying out, I'd recommend you upgrade to a PCI-E Socket 939 motherboard, then get a decent PCI-E graphics card, like a 6800GS.
Judging by his old CPU, he may HAVE to upgrade his Motherboard.
If he wants a new processor, he certainly will. Socket 754 is on the way out, and Socket A is 32-bit only - the highest you could go with that is a Sempron 3000+.
alright thank you guys, very much :)
my birthday is coming up in about a month so im asking for an x850PRO. Then my rig should be set :)
Hey don't get that card. I looked at it and i was going to get it. But i did my homework and found that the x800 xl was better as it has 16 pipes. The one i ordered today is the second one down on this >page< (second one down). I have done all the homework and it is the same as it, but when you raise the resolutions and AA/AF it performs better. Only trying to help. Enjoy.
why thank you :) j/w but how much will my 3dmark scores go up with the 3200+?
You will probably get a few hundred points or so give or take, i'm not really sure just how much they will go up though.
i mean im not disagreeing with you because i asked but, a few hundred points? im guessing there has to be more of an increase than that. But thank you for your guess :)
Which 3DMark are you talking about? 3DMark05?
A few hundred points in 05 is actually a pretty good increase, 3DMark is more GPU dependent anyways (though the CPU is still very important).
uhhh im talking about 3dmark 01 and 03 :) can you please give me an update on what the scores would be with the new parts on those?
