Hey, I've heard that if you hook up a VGA cable between your 360 and some kind of PC monitor, you can get HD standard visuals. Does it have to be a particualr type of PC monitor? I'm not sure about mine. It's flatscreen, but thats about all I know  Also, if this is true, how do you get sound with it? Any help would be appreciated.
You need one of those. That gives you a VGA output for your PC monitor and a stereo audio output.
I believe that your XBOX 360 will automatically choose a resolution that your screen will display. You need a 17" LCD monitor to display 720p HD, which (I believe) is the highest the 360 will display.
I have a 360 and it displays 1080i or something like that...
Well I dunno, since I don't have one. I just read something that says it was updated via software to support 1080p or something. But to display 1080p on an LCD monitor you'll need a 24" widescreen (well I think there are a few 23" ones but they seem to cost either the same, or more, for some reason...). Which are bloody expensive. As in £650+.
ok then, um... how can I tell if my monitor is LCD?
I might add, these cables are $60. Stay with standard-def.

They're really not. The official ones are $40 and you can get equivalents from companies such as Joytech for about $20.
Fear, does it look like these:
The four in the first pic are LCD monitors. The other 3 are CRTs.
That means it is LCD.

See, there's a reason I rarely post in the tech discussion area :) Thanks for your help, peoples.
You can actually get flat CRT monitors so it wasn't a stupid question.
