A lot of the games out now (like KOTOR and Unreal 2004) need video cards with "hardware transform and lighting." 1. Is there a relatively cheap video card (<$120) that has this option? 2. What video card is the best when you compare price vs. quality?

good luck finding out, since there are dozens of cards out there, it kinda hard to compare them all. look thru www.Pricewatch.com you can view buy priceranges to see only what your willing to spend, just about all vid cards out today have HTL "hardware transform and lighting."

As mentioned almost every 3d card available new has hardware transform and lighting. Good cards for the money right now weighing price and performance would be a ATI Radeon 9600XT or a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra.

Of course higher is better. A Radeon 9800 Pro, 9800XT, X800X, or a 5950 Ultra or a 6800 GT would be very high end and all things being equal would give you better performance if you can afford the higher prices.

If your like me and cant afford the best the first two cards mentioned are good choices.

Bah, my 128mb GeFroce 4 FX5200 does the trick with no drops in FPS in KotOR with highest settings. It is also going to be a lot less expensive than some of the others listed.

Oh, by the way...
