I was going to call this "Pinnacle Studio Questions" but I had more general questions too...:)

OK:

Pinnacle Studio:

1. In Pinnacle Studio[I have version 8], I know you can add soundtrack, but is it only through their SmartSound CD thing, or can I import other tracks somehow?

2. Graphics/DVD Menus?

Again, can you only use the stuff they provide on the CD or is there a way I could make DVD Menus and Graphics with some other program and import it; either directly or by dropping it in the folder in the directory tree?

3. I read the Amazon.com reviews for the latest version of Studio [10.5] and people said it was junk; the main reason was that it apparently crashes alot.

4. Do they have a version that can do Chromakey effect[I believe it's in version 9 and up]?

5. Anything else I should know? :D

a.Anyone had experience with this?

b. Is that true?

c.Or are those isoloated circumstances that I shouldn't worry about?

Adobe Premiere Elements

1. For the price range, is Premiere Elements a good competitor with Studio?

General Questions:

1. What other software would you recommend?

*********************************************

I hope this isn't a lot to ask, but I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could answer each questions; like "1 2 3, a, b, c, etc...".

Thanks in advance!

~LC

For most of the Pinnacle-related questions, you might be better off trying to find a forum that specializes in video and video editing.

However, I can tell you that Premire Elements is a wothy compeditior to Pinnacle (I've used both at school).

But the better question is, what will you be doing with either of these video editors.

I suppose I won't be doing anything too intensive...so probably all video editors on the market today can handle what I'm doing; just normal editing, adding soundtrack, and maybe making a dvd.

But I might need a chroma key effect...and I thought I had read that Studio 10 had that...

Yea, that's almost certianly too specific a question to ask on GF. Pinnacle might even have its own official forums if you go look for them.

Find your self a Mac. iMovie+iDVD=terrific amatuer video editing tools.
