Hey guys, I recently noticed that on my new laptop, all video files I play appear to be cropped/zoomed in. Whether they are streamed from the internet, using wmp or not, downloaded or played from a CD. I've tried playing those files in VLC, but they also appear cropped.

Any idea on what could be the problem? Thanks!

You ought to try reinstalling your video drivers.

I do have one question however, are you only seeing this problem in one program (like Windows Media Player)?

Nope, it happens when using VLC, WMP, Realplayer. Basically all my videos are cropped. I'll try installing better video vard drivers and see if it works.

Some laptops have unique graphics settings (sometimes because they have widescreen displays) that override the settings in individual applications.

Check the settings for your graphics card and look for anything relating to screen size/adjustment, etc...

When in doubt, gas it!
