I want to put 2 geforce 8800gts cards in my computer, but i want to know whether i need anything perticular to have it in my computer or not? i.e. a certain motherboard, processor, etc ...
anyhelp would be greatful
cheers
you need only a mobo to support SLI like this one: Newegg.com - EVGA 122-CK-NF68-T1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
ASUS SKT-775 P5VD2-MX S/V/L M-ATX 1066
you wouldn't happen to know if this motherboard supports it or not would you?

If you are talking about this one: ASUS 182185 ASUS SKT-775 P5VD2-MX SE S/V/L M-ATX 1066FSB Motherboards Components the answer is no.
k cheers ill go hunt around for a cheap one for my computer before i get my 4 gig ram =P thanks alot
Another Question does that website with the motherboard you showed me send to europe, i.e england because its cheapest on there due to the fact its in dollars =P
What size resolution do you play on? Theres really no pint with 2 gfx cards unless its very high. A single 8800gts is more than most people need. In the UK try these sites if you want an SLI board.
Components » Motherboards » AMD AM2 SLiReady - Overclockers UK
Hope this helps, also bear in mind if you do opt for 2 of those, even NVidia recommends you don't even bother to benchmark 2 8800gts' unless you have at least a quad core as whatever cpu you have it would be a bottleneck to them.
im getting ready for crysis =P i want to play on full high and have no lag wat so ever but firstly i need to get the main bit before i do anything to ram and stuff
Performance actually suffers a little using 2 graphics cards (in certain circumstances) or renders no improvement at all running at lower than 1600x1200 resolutions. If you don't run at this or higher resolutions, save some money and stick with one card. Honestly it's not worth the money unless you're running a 24" monitor or greater. I know this from experience.
