No. Lowering ram temperature does not allow additional headroom in the same manner that lowering cpu or video card temperatures do.

Then what's the point of it? Nothing's going to burn up at 32 degrees. Unless it increases life span of memory or something? But then, most memory modules last quite a bit...

How many people actually use 2560x1600 screens though?

Hell, i feel lucky to be using a large 1920x1080 screen (32" HDTV).

Bloody hell, you are lucky. I play on a 19" screen which goes up to 1280x1024. Though I might be getting a new monitor soon (and finally a set of reasonable headphones), either 1920x1200, 1920x1080, or 1680x1050.

A lot of people do. And you should consider yourself lucky, I'm luck to have a PC that plays Cod4 at high settings at an average of 28 FPS.

A lot of people...compared to what? The number of people who play on 100-inch LCDs? Cause it's definitely not a lot compared to the amount who play on 1920x1200, 1680x1050, or 1280x1024 monitors.

Who cares? I simply said a lot do, that's it. Doesn't require any comparison. Btw, I wish my monitor was as big as yours and went as high as 1280 x 1024.

A lot of people play on 2560X1600? What the hell world are you living in? And 28fps in cod4? How the hell could you play like that? I could NOT play on a 1950xt much less the x1300 you have.

Well, it does if you want it to mean anything.

Hey it's true, a lot of people do; that doesn't mean the whole population of gamers.

I guess you're just un-cool , ask Merrick he used to have one.

But they're susceptible to heat damage. Cooling does help improve lifespan on high performance or overclocked memory, but active airflow over most modern heatspreaders on performance memory is perfectly sufficient.

Also, a "lot" typically means three or more. There is no way in hell that there are "a lot" of users with 30" LCDs out there in any significant context.

Well, like I said a lot doesn't mean the entire gaming community. But really I don't understand why Pedantic even brought up the question in the first place, I said specifically: "IF you WANT to run it at this resolution." Sheesh.

We've only played twice, and that's in a gametype I'm not very good at. Besides, I usually play most of my games on a CRT TV which is interlaced which means: better gameplay.

How does that mean better gameplay?
