My computer has lines going across the monitor. There are 4 groups of lines going vertically on the monitor. And some other line in the background.

Does anyone know how to fix it or what the problem??

First you should try moving your monitor as far away from anything electric as you can. Sometimes that can screw with monitors.

Btw, does it happen while in game? If so it may be your video card. If not, how thick/noticeable are they?

The problem could be with your monitor itself. I'm guessing its a LCD?

Would you be able to hook another monitor up to it and see if you still get the lines? Or hook your monitor up to another computer?

Your Videocard may be overheating. I remember that use to happen with me when I had my old 9800 Pro...which over-heated constantley. Try checking its temps.

Try to get a screenshot so we can see what you're talking about.

You also might want to try changing video cables.

... and if they appear on the screenshot or not ^^ That would help to know if it comes from the video card (should be yes if it can be seen on the screenshot, no if not, then it would really be a problem with the monitor itself). Someday I had such a problem with a "wet" monitor (had been to a LAN with some friends, my monitor took a few rain drops ... ) and the problem went away when it heated up, the water vaporizing. Though if your problem doesn't solve itself quite fast, it's probably not just water.

Its not the monitor cause I've already tried switching it. And the video card isn't over heating cause it happens even if the computers been turn off for weeks, I'll try getting a screen shot soon.

Also, it happens whenever I turn on the computer whether in game or not.

This is a screen shot from the menu of one of my games... (It's way worse than it looks).
