Well, i just got my new PC up and running. I go into Internet Explorer to download Firefox, I download it, but it is corrupt. I tried again, same thing. I then downloaded another program, downloaded but again, was corrupt. I thought it was an IE bug, but I found Firefox on a disk, installed and then tried downloaded something else. SAME THING! I cannot download ANYTHING, they all finish 100%, but are ALL corrupt! Help!!!!

By the way, I have NOT activated Windows yet. Maybe that is a problem.

Please Help!!!

Cheers.

Did you try to download files with a download-manager? Some of them control the size of the file to make sure that it isn't corrupt.

It could also be a problem with your connection, make sure that all cables are plugged in correctly.

Sounds like a virus to me. Happened to me when I first got my PC 3 years ago.

Go into Command Prompt and type the following:

tracert 207.126.111.226

And post the results. That IP is mozilla.com's IP, but I'm not sure if the downloads are located on that server. Better to check though.

I am certain it isn't a virus. The PC is brand new.

Anyway, Reven, here is that thing.

Try resetting IE advanced tab to default in Control Panel, but first try activating Windows.
