I'm only going to spend $110 and under. 1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130263 12 pixel piplines, slower DDR Memory. Memory clock 600mhz. RAMDAC 400mhz

OR

2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150130 8 pixel piplines, GDDR3 RAM, Memory clock 1000mhz, RAMDAC 400mhz

They are both the same price. Which one is faster? I know the 12 pixel piplines is an atvantage for the first one. But the second one has much faster GGDR3 memory, and has a memory clock of 1000mhz.

You say $110 and under, yet you show 2 cards at $129 and $139?if you don't mind spending abit more like $135 then i would and have gone for this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161146R IMO it is far better than the 6800 and this is because it has the same memory and GPU as the X850XT PE,that card would cost you about $300.The HIS X800gto has 12 pipelines as standard but if you kbow what your doing it can be "flashed" to 16 pipelines,so with abit of overclocking you get your X850XT PE for $135 :D Plus added to this you get a very good cooler with it which would normaly cost about another $25 on top.

You're missing the rebates, they are under $110. From what I have read, more pipelines will have a greater impact than memory clock speed, given that the core speeds are the same.

Sorry ,never used newegg before,im'e in the uk,even so i would save a little longer for the HIS X800GTO it would be worth it in the long run:) look at this rough guide for card performance against others: [http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=wiki&tag=rmp_vds And if you think the gto could perform like the X850XT PE ,thats not bad in that list :)

Why use that guide when there's one right here in this very forum (ironically, to prevent threads like this one ;) ). Answer: the 6800 outperforms the 6800XT.

Thanks for the responses. So I should go for the 6800 over the 6800XT? Any other comments? And the 6800 is $99AR from newegg, and the 6800XT is $104AR @ newegg. Both come to under $110 with shipping. A friend of mine is going to be buying my older Geforce 6200 card for $45. So then AR the card will only cost me like $60... Not a bad upgrade :)

Yes, the 6800 would be the better choice.

Yea the 6800. Or if you want to go even cheaper get a 6600. it is what I have and it works really good. All of my games look really sharp now. Its a good card if you dont want to spend that much money on one.

That XFX 6800XT Xtreme might put out better numbers than the vanilla 6800 at lower resolutions. It has faster, better overclocking GDDR3 running 400Mhz faster than the 6800 and a slightly faster core, but 4 less pipelines. But i think that even with the higher clocks it would lag in AA/AF and high res settings.

I would get the 6800, and do some overclocking (if your into overclocking that is).
