It really depends what your putting it in, but on terms of specs, I'd have to probably say the 7900. I'm an ATI guy though, so given the chance for either, i'd take the x1900.

Im putting it in a $9k alienware computere, the reason I ask is that I will probably not buy another computer in 5 years or so, so I would really love to make the right choice. I have asked in multiple forums and will hopefully get a qualified/knowledgdefull answer.

at this point in time, id get the crossfire. since the quad drivers are really buggy. besides, ATi cards tend to overclock extremely well.

But with the Nvidia option he would get another 2 GPUs which, I sure will have vast speed increase compared to the ATI option.

you obviously havent read any reviews have you? the new quad sli set up is faulty, while the setup itself works, it doesn't perform at it's best. in fact, most quad sli setups work at roughly 68% due to crappy drivers and (possibly) incapable hardware. as of now, it's not worth it to spend money on something that doesnt work (and most likely wont for a while). truth be told, even if someone GAVE me the two nvidias, id resell them. not because im a "fanboy" but because id much rather have cash aside for when quad-crossfire (i hope) comes out.

I would go with the Nivida my self. Though i am a Nivida type of person. ATI will have future upgradeabality if you plan to upgrade any time. But i would still go Nivida.

They will fix that problem soon enough. Keep in mind that problems in PC's are almost never long lasting.

I would go with the quad SLI setup. Regardless of whether it is buggy now, when they fix it you will reign supreme.

Also - I want the kind of money you have.
