Preferably at medium settings or higher.

Unless Visiontek decides to accept my warranty, I need a new video card. I have a PCIe x16 slot, and a 300W PSU. Unfortunately, I have little cash. Less than $100. What is the best video card I can get for this money that can play BF2 (mainly Forgotten Hope 2)?

Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H260PRF256DDN-R Radeon HD 2600PRO 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100207L Radeon HD 2600PRO 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

2600pro is around about the best you can buy for that much which is pretty good. Thats actually a lot for your money as you have dx10 thrown in as well. Dont be tempted to buy an x1300/x1600 or 7300 as these cards will cost you about the same and are a completely different kettle of fish. They will all play bf2 on medium but you will know where the money went on a 2600, you should get a lot of the settings on medium/high provided you have enough ram.

If you dont opt for 2600 at least get yourself a decent older card such as 7600gt. But again, 2600 would be a wiser investment.

Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N554-AX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Good luck and let us know what you get.

I don't really want DirectX 10 that much, I plan to stick to XP.

EDIT: Gah, what's the PSU requirement of the 2600, the 7600 needs 400W unfortunately, maybe I need to upgrade my PSU first before thinking about anything else?

Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N541-T2 GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N740-LR GeForce 8500GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Either one of those is just 75 dollars, pair it up with a cheap 4-500w psu and you have medium-high settings for less than a hundred (Then just upgrade the psu to a decent make later on) Please i beg you dont buy a 6200 unless you really have to. They are fine for laptops but are bottom end of entry level for desktops.

I can run BF2 perfectly on high settings with my 7600 GT.

Are you sure you have a PCI-E x16 slot and a good enough PSU?
