hi I bought a new game command and conquer generals and it doesn't work on my pc coz the system needs a new video card. I checked on different sites to see what kind of video card i should get. I'm thinking of getting a nvidia geforce ti4200 or geforce fx series. i went to a computer shop to check and they told me that i need to know if my mother board can support 8xagp or 4xagp. Can you tell me how can i check what my computer has? and do you have any suggestion what type of video card should i buy and where can i buy it? i want a video card that will work on new games like the coming lord of the rings battle for the middle earth and improve its performance, also i want something that is cheaper. i don't know a lot on computers, please help...

ok how old is your comp? If it more that 3 or more years old I suggest getting a new comp. Now go into start/run and type indxdiag and hit run it will bring up all your your comps info. save it and post it here so we can help. oh and i suggest getting an ATI 9600Xt or 9800 series. ATI is great. And that whole nvida is reccomened on that game is BS. It runs just as good(if not better) with an ATI card

ya you should defintly get more ram before you get a High powerful graphics card.

and you can find some cheap video cards of www.ebay.com and www.sell.com

i suggest sell.com there stuff is brand new and not used. you can find a ATI 9800 128MB for like $50

those are all used cards that may not work. I'd say stay away from those sites and go to sites like www.newgg.com or www.buyxg.com :D.
