Where are my NVIDIA Drivers for Vista? "NVIDIA not being ready for DX10, Vista, and SLI is a low blow to enthusiasts and gamers that spend the big bucks, and they will remember that for a while “World-class support” should be a minimum expectation, not just a marketing tag line http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTI3NCwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== Logitech, Creative, NVIDIA driver disgrace "Guess that Vista upgrade is just going to have to wait -- either that, or I upgrade my hardware to something compatible and vow never to buy Logitech, Creative or NVIDIA ever again!" http://www.apcstart.com/5215/waiting_for_vista

You mean these? :

GeForce Vista x64 driver

GeForce Vista x86 driver (32 bit)

8800 series Vista x64 driver

8800 series Vista x86 driver (32 bit)

Pre - 8xxx series cards are not DX10 hardware compliant. There are also some new beta drivers available for the older cards which may help.

btw - Are you actually looking for a driver for a specific card or just making a point? I'm confused.

Compared to nVidia, ATi driver support is almost nearing a joke IMO. nVidia is one of the best companies around for driver support. Not just out of nVidia and ATi (and SiS and Matrox and whoever else makes graphics products)...out of everyone. And actually, what are you talking about? nVidia has had drivers for Vista available since the Beta stages, let alone a few months after release...

I read through those linked articles from the first post, and I'm still confused. Did people really think that the drivers for Vista would be perfected on launch date?

Regardless of any time the companies had to prepare, driver issues should be anticipated with a new OS and a new "type" of DirectX. How quickly these folks forget, but as I recall, the launch of XP had similar driver problems, possibly worse. I suspect it will take many weeks or perhaps months for some decent drivers from anyone. There were numerous warnings of possible Vista driver problems for some time now, yet folks (like the editorial writer) seem surprised when they jumped onboard Vista on the very first day it's released and it doesn't work to perfection.

What's the big hurry to jump onto Vista anyways? Gluttons for punishment?

Aside from anything else, what does it matter if your card can't use DirectX 10 on release date? None of your programs can anyway...

Well, I partially take that back, the only DX10 game out right now is Flight Sim X

Here's a collection of soon to be released DX10 games http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1010840&postcount=1
