I currently do not have a very fast internet connection but I have seen certain browsers have faster page loading up times than others. Anybody know which browser is the best to use? I would prefer with better load times but I'm also considering the overall performance.

How about *gasp* trying them all and seeing which one you like most? (at least for out of 'box' performance, some you can tweak for better performance via addons)

The only browsers I've used myself would be Mozilla Firefox, Opera 9/10, Safari and Google Chrome. I believe Opera has a fairly quick reloading time, whilst Firefox is a tad bit slower at that. I eventually stuck to Firefox mainly because I liked most plugins and the general looks. And if I'm not mistaken, Firefox is the most secure one.

Opera 10 + Turbo mode.

You can't get any faster than that. Though with turbo mode active it won't load images at full quality, if that would concern you. Also you can try Safari, it loads pages pretty fast for me, at least a lot faster than FF or IE will.

I've found Opera to be the fastest browser, with Safari right behind.

Chrome is supposedly fast as well, but I like Opera and that's what I stick with.

Really depends on what your looking for really, if its just speed them I would suggest Opera but if your interested in additional features that a browser is capable off then I would highly suggest Firefox.

If you have a slow internet connection, then Opera is by far the best browser to use. The Turbo Mode compresses the images and takes out all scripts, which saves you a heck of a lot of bandwidth and makes the pages load a lot faster - Opera say they load about 4 times faster, and they really do. Obviously it depends on which pages you load, but it's generally between 2.5x - 8x faster.

The image quality is degraded (by quite a lot sometimes), but you can choose to load whatever images you want in full quality again.

If you want to try Chrome, i highly recommend using Iron instead. Its basically open source Chrome without all of Google's stuff added to it.

There's fast, then there's compatible with forum software. That's why I use Firefox, it's reasonably fast and widely used, so has good compatibility and lots of addons.

I think he means fast as in fast page loading, not program performance. And since he's got a slow internet connection, I think that's going to be rather more relevant than how fast the browser itself is.
