I have come to this tempel of computerwisdom to seek awnser to a fairly simple question. Which graphics card drivers should I get, and can you give me a location as to where I can get them? The source of this question is rather simple. I have no drivers as it is. That's right, no drivers. I removed the drivers a good 45 minutes ago, because they were screwing up my computer bigtime. And I really mean bigtime. The ones I've used, and which failed, are the NVIDIA Experimental drivers (this one), and the 'normal' drivers (this one) NVIDIA had on their site. They both crashed my PC, which resulted in many curses, a lot of frustration, and several broken desktop appliances. Due to this, I decided to ask here instead of going on an expedition again myself, seeing this would only result in more frustration, and more broken objects.

Graphics card: GeForce FX 5700 OS: Windows XP Home edition (sp2)

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

You could try these They are modified NVIDIA forceware drivers and are supposed to be better, but I own an ATI card so i've never tried them.

have a look here, there is a list of older nvidia drivers which you could try. i dont use beta drivers as i've had problems in the past. i'm surprised that the latest drivers caused you problems though.

Thinking about it.

Well, I ignored the usual "OMFG YOU NOOB THIS IS BAD STUFF!" message windows gives, seeing it always gives that message when installing new drivers. This time however, it crashed my PC after playing Oblivion (might be a link, might not be) for about 10 minutes. So much for assuming NVIDIA will sort the drivers so they don't give any software problems. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll try both of them in the morning.
