im thinking of buying This Processor and i was wondering which motherboard would work best on, must be PCI-Express and under £80 cus im on a low budget:rolleyes: This is where i have order it from.
Thanks
Mybe something like this one from Gigabyte. But I am really not 100% sure on what to buy in your price range though. http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=324364
or another CPU with a compatible motherboard good for gaming, aprox £200 for both, PCI-Express btw:)
If you want to push your budget a little bit further I whould recomenden this for cpu: http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=322631 and this for motherboard: http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=322631 I have had three ASUS motherboards and newer had any problems with them. Oh and youre current ram is it ddr ore ddr2?
Firstly, buy this instead. Don't be fooled by the spec, it's superior to a Pentium D. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=430631 OcUK charge about £135 for it, in case you were wondering. So about £10 more.
And I know this is a bit (£10-ish) over your £80 budget, but this looks pretty good: hhttp://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=433274 OcUK don't sell that one. They sell it's little bro (ie the non-Pro) though, for about £85. I'd go for the Pro (ie the one I linked to) because it can take more drives. And...well, look at my sig and you'll see why. :)
I can't see a reason why you have to order from them. Scan is far superior IMO. Although I do like the new OcUK layout...
since both of you recommended Intel Core 2 Duo ill get it but the 2.4ghz with 4mb L2 cache can you reccomend a motherboard for that plz. still around £80ish
thanks
The same one, the ABIT AB9 Pro.
You do know that the 2.4GHz E6600 costs about £210, right?
Ore the one from ASUS that I posted.
vikke-viking;3360154Ore the one from ASUS that I posted.
