Can't say I'm much of a fan of either, but given choice and some more work on the header I'd go with the white one.

Well, as said on MSN; I choose the first one. I prefer dark if it comes to homepage templates and the such. Forums, however, would be a different matter.

White. It's a lot easier on the eyes, and you have a better contrast between the front background and the back background...if that makes sense...

What exactly is bad about it? Gray and black are bad (The Colors), or is it just too spaced out? [QUOTE=Mr. Pedantic;5165335]White. Hmm. What about a black background-background (Wut? =p) with a dark gray text background, and black text?

To be honest there's nothing wrong with it per see, it just looks like something that was common ten years ago

It's also extremely squashed up to the top, but still has a small gap there. Either get something to fill the gap and make it bigger or completely drop it sort of.

White. But get that frigging advert out of the middle. Adverts belong on the side out of the way, they're not to be whacked right into the middle of your content as a page divider.

You have any suggestions on making the header more modern, but yet still as simple to navigate? [QUOTE=Bs|Archaon;5167455]White. But get that frigging advert out of the middle. The idea was from FileFront actually. When the adverts are in the middle, it should be more clicks. Although, my statistics aren't showing that at all.

I'd go with the "white" one, I find it more easier to read and navigate around on.

I'd probably also make the "arrows" (>>>>>) on the background much more subtitle so that the background does barely draw any attraction at all.
