Yes, I am bragging.

Won both in a raffle @ PDXLAN12. I don't have and DDR3, so the mobo is sitting idle at the moment. It will probably inherit my old E6600 and become a dedicated Slimserver box.

Idle temps reported at aboud 37°C, load is about 50°C. Not a bad delta, considering that my loop really isn't equipped--at all--to support a quad.

DAMN YOU!!!! I WENT TO THAT LAN PARTY!!!!! RAWRZ!!!!!!! That's a pretty damn good win. Plus, another thing thats good for your computer, that it gets out of the house and gets to meet loads of new people....lol. But yes, LAN parties are always a good way to get good/free stuff. Congrats.

All you need, is your computer, keyboard, mouse, HEADPHONES (no speakers), a fair sized ethernet cable (16ft+), and an extension cord just incase a power plug isn't near your spot.

Would have been better bragging rights had you won them with gaming skills at a LAN party but I'm envious just the same. I'll have to gloat a bit when I get my Nehalem. I wouldn't sweat the DDR3, better to buy it when the prices come down, and they're steadily declining.

Heh, nice one! Won one of these at the last major LAN that I attended, last year (runner-up in a benchmarking competition). They offered me a Q6600, but I figured I may as well get the second card instead, since I can only use one CPU at a time. :p

And either way 'round, there's usually at least one (semi) pro team that shows up for the tourneys, which pretty well screws we casual gamers. No major worries on the DDR3, either. I don't plan to use the Bonetrail in my main rig anyway... the P5K still overclocks better, and has better options.

Not bad, not bad. I totally hadn't planned to upgrade to a quad, but what the hell, right? I'm astounded at how cool it runs compared to my old E6600, even with an extra 225MHz (already!).

I was at table 8, just down from Jeff (Dphregi, the guy with the half-functioning tank-case) but hung out quite a bit over by Crunch (far end of table 10, with the 42" Westinghouse).

Do you actually live in the area?
