*WARNING!* Long story. Sorry. I always make short stories long. For the short version, start reading when you see bold. But you may miss something :p
So a while ago, my mic worked fine. Then one day I wanted to record from my soundcard. At the time I didn't have my usual program installed and couldn't install it, so I installed WavePad. I used that and it worked fine..
Then I got my usual program, Roxio Sound Editor. Again, the mic worked fine, but when I tried to record from the sound card, the original option wasn't there! It used to say "Record Master", but now it says "What u hear", which is what Wavepad's option was. And Wavepad has been uninstalled, according to me computer.
BOLD! So I figured it out, selected "What u hear" and.... nothing happened! So I went into my sound settings, and just turned most of the volume sliders up. Back in the program, it recorded from my soundcard... but also picked up from my mic. Then I started hearing sounds from both my soundcard and mic. Needless to say, this is very annoying.
Like I said, all I changed (I'm pretty sure) was some of the volume sliders (apparently my mic was all the way down but still picked up??). So this is really baffling, and preventing me from using my mic when I need to, without muting my speakers, unmuting my mic, then muting my mic, and unmuting my speakers when I'm done! Argh!
Thanks for the help guys... again..
This was a last resort.. I didn't want it to be something really simple and obvious like the Dark Episode... but I really can't figure this out and have done everything I could think of.
Oh my... never mind!
Forget this whole thing, it was simple. I'll post when I have time.
EDIT: Okay, I've got some time.. well there were two options, one "Voice Playback", and "Voice Recording". Recording was up high, and so was playback. So duh.
/me slaps self
Please don't make a sig out of this :'( ()
