I'm building my own custom gaming computer and I was just checking these components go together: Motherboard: Asus P5GPL-X SE 915 DDR400 PCI-E GB LAN Processor: Intel Pentium 4 945 Dual Core 3.4GHz LGA775 2Mb x2 Cache 800MHz FSB Processor RAM: 2x 333MHz 184Pin 1024MB PC2700 DDR RAM DIMM 2.5V 2.7Gb/Sec Graphics Card: Novatech Geforce 7950GT 512MB GDDR3 HDCP Capable SLI Dual DVI I'm also a bit confused about the hard drive, I was thinking of buying this one: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB SATA II 7200rpm 8Mb Cache 11ms 300Mb/s But it looks alot like a CD Drive (which I already have). Can someone explain Hard Drives to me?

The computer should have:

3.4GHz 2GB of RAM 160GB of capacity A 7950GT graphics card with 512MB

From what I'm seeing, yes the parts would work, but they system is terrible. Why would you want to buy a new pentium 4? And the ram is only DDR1.

I recomeden a core 2 duo. Even the "slowest" is very good. If you want something in the middle that will give the moust bang for the buck then its the E6600 that got 4mb of L2 cache.

I have to agree with vikke-viking.

The Pentium 4 is nearing the end of its life.
