Hello all , A few days ago when i logged in i had windows saying preparing desktop before i logged in then i got logged into my temporary profile. I added a verbose status in the registry which is the advice i reiceved but it didnt helped. Before i went to work i did a system restore and it loaded up correctly , i fear that i may not of fixed or only fixed it for a short time or just logged in properly by coincidence. Any help on the matter would be most appreciated Kind regards Nicholas

I'm not sure I understand the question. "Preparing desktop" is a normal message in Windows 7. What is the problem, and why do you believe it has not been solved by your system restore?

Hello instead of saying welcome as u key in your password , it says preparing desktop and takes like 5 mins then it log u into a temporary profile so none of your files or icons are there .

I think the system restore solved it but i am not entirely sure

I've never seen this issue before, but it seems like something that would happen if all other accounts were disabled or simply inaccessible.

Windows 7 temporary profile - Microsoft Answers

This seems to be a likely issue, especially since the profile is working now, perhaps it is corrupted. A possible solution is included in the link above.

I'm assuming you're not running on a domain? Have you checked the event viewer for any error messages?
