Hello my fellow geeks,

So I've bought and downloaded Windows 8.1. I have the windows 7 USB DVD download tool to make Windows 8.1 bootable from a USB/DVD. Now I am unable to find the ISO file for Windows 8.1 within the folder. I am, however able to run the setup and install windows 8.1 (I have quit by the time it asks me to) I do have 2nd HDD is it possible to have windows 8.1 boot from there? You see if you are wondering why do I want windows 8 the simple answer is because I have to install windows XP then upgrade to Windows 7. AS the Windows 7 disk is an upgrade only disk and cannot be used for clean installs. So I figured I could only find windows 8.1 for an early Xmas gift that is meant for clean installs.

You should be able to select the folder during installation, so just choose your other HDD at that point. After that check your BIOS boot order and make sure the second HDD is in the list.

Depends how you define "old". Most games should work without trouble, very old games may require an emulator like Dosbox.

Roughly, everything that runs in Win7 x64 should run in Win8.1 as well. If not, you may need to specify which games you're referring to.

I have Armada's 1&2 and Bridge Commander.

Step 1 : install the game and all patchs. 1 and 1.2 Step 2 got to Control panel on your computer Step 3: Click on System and Security Step 4: Click on Programs "Run programs made for pervious windows" Step 5: when it ask to select prg scan down till you find Armada II and click on it Let the prg run and it will find a verision of windows that will make the game work and it will ask for you to test the prg. Go ahead and do that and it well run perfectly.

Well, you could find a system that runs Xp or Visa only and play it that way.
