Well I'm trying to fix Computer with Windows Me installed and it gives this Blue Screen with a window that says; "Updating hardware information Database"..whenever you turn it on....If I could I'd just Wipe the damn thing and start out with a fresh copy of XP...But the Guy I'm fixing it for Wants it as ME...Cause his "printmaster 11" is installed on there and he doesn't have the disk to reinstall it....I think if I hook it up to the internet...maybe it could update??? but then again..didn't Microsoft cut off all support for ME, 98, 95,Ect.??? So unless someone can help me get passed this issue or help me find a copy of Printmaster 11 so I can just Wipe the Damn thing, I don't think theres anything I can do for now...Help please???

I belive cutting support doesn't mean that it won't let you get updates.

It just means that they're not updating it any more.

So yeah, hook it up and give it a try.

BURN IT!!!!!

If you must work on it, leave it on for a while? the hardware update may take some time. If it takes too long, go back to my first line.

Boot into Safe Mode, if you have not already tried.

Most of the results I found via Google indicated that Norton may be the cause. Try doing a search for *.inf files. Only delete the ones that are 0kb. As in, empty.

It may be easier to do this from another computer, or OS.

Windows ME has to be the worst version of windows ever. Can't he go and buy a Printmaster 11 disk? or is that something thats not avialable anymore or somethine like that?

Personally, i think getting rid of that terrible OS is worth losing the printmaster....

2000 is the best, IMO, if your going to change. It's seriously stable.

ROFL! XP owns 2000 by a long shot, especially when it comes to DirectX support!
