Went to make a restore point earlier and when I click the System Restore program it gives me a "This program has caused an error and must close" dialog before the program even begins to display. This really sucks because I like having restore points. Any clue why this would be broken after a fresh install of Windows XP Pro?

Wouldn't really know. You could try again, and hopefully that would work. But still I don't really know. I'm not a Tech guy, I'll leave it up to them instead.
I didn't make it!
To be honest with you system restore has never EVER even worked with me! So in my opinion it's no good anyways.
I've used it many times in the past and it's always nice in case I install something or something screws my computer up and I can go back and undo it. I think my old PC did something similar, it would let me open it but it always failed to create a restore point. I had to do something in the Windows folder I think and when I did it worked fine. I think I even posted about it on here. This is different though, it crashes any time I try to open it. I'm at a loss why that would be happening on this relatively fresh (about four week old) install of Windows XP Pro.
