Yesterday I decided to run windows updates, seeing as I forgot to do them when I first installed XP. A few hours after that, I noticed a few rare websites giving me this error:
"Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."
I thought it was just those websites, but today I decided to try Rapidshare again and now I know it's my computer. I'm running WinXP with AVG. I'm gettin thise on both FireFox and IE. I tried uninstalling/removing the firewall but neither worked. I googled the prob and I noticed someone said they got this same prob after updating windows.
Now here's the weird part: I can actually visit those sites, but as long as I enter the url from the address bar. Still though, there's some downsides: one of them doesn't load properly even if I manage to enter it, and some of my shortcuts to other forums arn't working, even if they're just shortcuts of different threads.
What's up with this? =/
EDIT: So it turns out my shortcuts do work, but only if I paste the link into the address bar and take out the "http://www". Adding them to shortcuts again after entering without the "www" fixes that at least.
Ctrl + shift + del
Delete everything, unless you want to save your cookies. See if that works. Then check your browser's connection settings. Make sure it's not using a proxy server. Check your network connection, and see whats going. If all else fails, roll the system back to an earlier date and see if that fixes the problem.
