Don't buy it. I have heard too much negative feedback. People getting their files deleted. Things randomly happening that shouldn't be. In my opinion, it is not worth the money, the time, or the grief.

Well I don't know. It is your computer and it is your decision. Just keep in mind if your going to be downloading music or anything like that microsoft is going to know. And your music collection will be history. Try to clear out as many possibly bootlegged programs if you have any. And enjoy your new OS. It should be fun, I hear it is great. Though I myself would not want to pay the money.. free? heck yes. If you do get it, I would suggest partitioning your hard drive and keeping windows XP as well. That is what I would do anyway.

The OS itself will know. There is a new feature to delete programs and files they don't think is yours. Assuming that said files are paid for you should be fine. But yea, i have had a change of heart since my first post. If it's free snatch it up. What is there to lose, eh?

In the end it is still just a computer. The reason I am a bit reluctant to get it is because what about people who pay for songs on limewire? If they lose that, half the time it's going to be gone. And that is money down the drain. I know it wont delete game demos but your legally free songs on the other hand.. I don't know.
