I agree with many that the 7 version is a whack idea. Regardless, ive got to say, vista looks pretty cool. http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/pdc2005_vista5219_01.asp ^ gallery of a few screens. Look around that site more, theres some screens of the Alt+Tab bar etc, and it does look very visually impressive. What do you all think ? EDIT: Heres a link to another forums post, which has the screenies of the Alt+Tab bar etc. http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30918

It looks ok. A lot of the stuff they took from Apple and Linux. Apple with the big icons and Linux with the translucent. But it looks like Windows XP still. Then its close, max, min bars looks like a theme I see before for XP. But it looks ok. Just going to be a major system hog.

I don't like the design of Vista. Like you said Agent, it looks the same as XP, with some stuff from Apple and some stuff from Linux. I don't like XP, it's too "round."

Meh, it looks alright. Better than XP for some reason. Is it reall true that they might be catering to game designers by making it easier/quicker to run? I thought I heard something about that earlier...

They have already announced that the new user interface (aero I think it is called?) is not yet in the beta versions. Windows x64 is nothing more than Windows XP Pro optimized for the 64bit processor. Windows Vista will be be optimized for both 32 and 64bit processors.
